Connecting with Loved Ones in Spirit: A Guide to Reading Tarot for Past Loved Ones

Hello, tarot friends!

Today, we're exploring the delicate and heartwarming practice of connecting with loved ones who have passed away through tarot readings. It's a topic that requires great sensitivity and respect, and I'm here to guide you through the process.

Q1: Do You Do Readings for Loved Ones Who Have Passed?

Absolutely, I do, and it's a deeply moving experience. However, it's essential to approach such readings with care, knowing that emotions can run high. For me, it's second nature as I originally worked as a coach for miscarriage support and fertility, so I'm used to holding space for emotional moments. But if you're not comfortable with this, it's okay to decline.

Q2: How Do You Conduct These Readings?

When someone requests a reading to connect with a loved one who has passed, I typically draw one card. To do this, I use the "Angel Guide" oracle deck by Kyle Gray. This deck has a gentle and comforting energy when it comes to connecting with loved ones in spirit.

Here's how it works:

The client asks for a message from their past loved one.

I draw one card from the Angel Guide deck.

I interpret the card's message as if it's coming directly from the loved one.

For instance, if the card suggests celebrating recent accomplishments, I might say, "Your loved one wants to celebrate all the progress you've made and the goals you've achieved. They are proud of you."

Q3: Do You Approach Reading a Message From a Passed Loved One Differently if You're a Medium?

I don't consider myself a medium in the traditional sense, but I do connect with my own past family members, usually not through cards. However, I choose not to connect with others in this way and it's not something I advertise or focus on. If you are a medium and offer mediumship services, your approach may differ. But for me, it's about providing a loving and empowering message from the loved one.

Reading for loved ones who have passed can be a deeply emotional and healing experience for both you and your client. Be prepared for tears and emotions, and always hold space for your client's feelings. Remember that these readings can bring messages of forgiveness, healing, and closure, and they can be incredibly impactful.

If you're not comfortable conducting these readings, it's perfectly okay to decline and offer an alternative, such as connecting with the client's spirit guides. This allows you to offer guidance in a way that feels more comfortable while still providing valuable insights.

As you embark on this beautiful journey of connecting with past loved ones through tarot, trust your intuition and let love guide your readings.
